It’s refreshing to come across rap r'n'b without the lyrics and aim of the song being sprung around drive-bys and pimps, instead opting for a more mellow approach, the like of which Soul 2 Soul used to impress us with.
They are rightly recognised as pioneers of the hip hop scene, breathing new life into a deflating genre, and turning bygone tunes into chart toppers. Complete with warm bass lines and an infectious lyrical loop that is ‘We don’t have to take our clothes off to have a good time’.
