Nicole Kidman's Bathing Suit auctioned off to Buy Cows

When Nicole Kidman forgot her bathing suit in Sweden, I bet she never imagined the new owner would auction it off to buy cows.

"The swimsuit went to the highest bidder for 16,200 kronor (2,500 dollars, 1,720 euros). That's enough to buy nine cows," the suit's previous owner Zlatko Nedanovski, 32, told AFP.

Nedanovski has had the suit displayed in his second-hand store for five years, and finally decided to sell it off to put it to good use.

Nedanovski said he hoped to raise enough to buy five cows, or around 9,000 kronor, as part of a project run by the Swedish aid organisation Erikshjaelpen.

"This went amazingly well," he said, acknowledging however that he would miss the suit, which has been on display in a second-hand store in the southern Swedish town of Esloev for the past five years.

"I felt it was time the bathing suit was used to help others, but it will feel a bit empty without it," he said.

Kidman, a keen swimmer, forgot the suit at a pool she had reserved for her personal use in the southwestern town of Vaenersborg during a 2002 stay in Sweden to shoot Lars von Trier's "Dogville".

Pool staff found it and handed it over to a local radio station.

Nedanovski then bought the swimsuit for 5,500 kronor.

Bids for the swimsuit had come from all over the world, Nedanovski said, but it finally went to 49-year-old Bengt Olsen from Sweden's film town Trollheattan, just south of Vaenersborg.

"I think it's wonderful that the suit has been returned to Sweden's film capital," Olsen told AFP.

"And I hope the bathing suit will raise more money for more cows for more poor Indian families," he said, explaining that he planned to charge a small fee to allow people to view the suit and use the proceeds to buy more cows.

"I've also decided to give one cow each year to an Indian family, and I want to encourage everyone else to do the same," he said.

A pregnant and glowing Nicole Kidman gazed lovingly into the eyes of her country and western singer husband as she cheered on a fellow countryman at the Australian Open tennis tournament.

The Oscar-winning actress, who had denied rumours that she was pregnant, recently confirmed that she was expecting a baby - although she still appears to be as slim as ever.

The A-list Hollywood actress cozied up to husband Keith Urban as they settled down to watch the Aussie tennis player Lleyton Hewitt and Serbia's Novak Djokovic in the fourth round of the tournament.

Nicole looked as if she were blooming, with a healthy glow in her cheeks, but wearing a polka-dot dress, her flat stomach revealed no hint of a pregnancy.

Unfortunately it was not smiles all round as Hewitt was defeated in three sets and dropped out of the Australian Open.

Morton's book, which will not be published in Australia or the UK because of the legal threat and more stringent defamation laws, charts the Cruise-Kidman relationship from its fairy tale beginning to the bitter end.

"Even though the couple had two nannies on-call 24 hours a day, Tom was very much a hands-on dad," Morton writes.

"When Nicole was away filming or, increasingly, flying to Sydney to spend time with her parents and sister, it could be days before she would phone to see how Isabella and Connor were coping.

"Those who saw the family close up concluded that Tom was much more comfortable and enthusiastic as a parent. The actor was in constant - and controlling - touch with the youngsters and their nannies no matter how busy he was."

Morton says that during their 10-year marriage, Kidman often behaved like a spoilt "diva".

"If the jet wasn't stocked with Beluga caviar and all the trimmings she appeared deeply irritated, exhibiting a jaded petulance,'' he wrote.

"Nicole often seemed bored or disenchanted with her life as a Hollywood star, expecting a luxurious lifestyle as her birthright.

"She had no sense of wonderment about the world. So many wonderful things happened to her, but she had an enduring sense of boredom - like some 1920s flapper. She never delighted in anything."

The book also claims Cruise and Kidman were both attached when they began their relationship.
She was allegedly still in a relationship with Aussie actor Marcus Graham and Cruise had recently separated from his wife, Mimi Rogers.

Nicole Kidman Once Considered Being A Nun

Nicole Kidman considered becoming a nun after she split from Tom Cruise. The Oscar-winning actress, whose 10-year marriage to Tom ended in 2001, was reportedly left so heartbroken she researched into joining a Catholic order that accepted divorced women.

The claims are made in British author Andrew Morton's new book, 'Tom Cruise: An Unauthorized Biography'. Morton claims: "Nicole considered nunneries in Australia that would admit women who had been married."

The writer, who also alleges the Church of Scientology was responsible for Nicole and Tom's divorce and claims Tom is second in command of the bizarre sci-fi cult, has defended his controversial tome.

Morton - who has penned a biography on the late Princess Diana - said: "I've got a reputation as a very careful biographer. I have spent over two years carefully researching this book. I asked Tom for an interview and he declined."

"Nicole started to pull away from Scientology. That sent alarm bells ringing inside the religion."

"Scientology would be a shadow of what it is today if it had not been for the involvement of Tom Cruise. More than that, he's been the frontman for the organization."
