The stunning R'n'B singer is often forced to communicate though writing notes when resting her voice ahead of a concert.
But she believes a Hawking-style voice synthesizer could be the answer to her troubles.
She explained: "Before a big show I'm not allowed to speak for two days. It's boring writing notes.
"I need Stephen Hawking's voice machine so I think and it comes out in a robot voice."
I can just imagine Mariah's greatest hits remixed in a Hawking's style - Genius.
