Jake vows: 'I'll always be there for Matilda'
Overwhelmed with grief following the death of his best friend Heath Ledger, an emotional Jake Gyllenhaal has reached out to Michelle Williams to help her and daughter Matilda.
Devastated by the thought of Heath's beloved little girl being raised without knowing her dad, Jake has told Michelle he's willing to step in to a father-figure role.
"He knew he had to immediately call Michelle and let her know he wanted to play a fatherly role in little Matilda's life," says a source. "He's her godfather and he wants to take that role very seriously."
