Amy Winehouse is denied US visa

Amy Winehouse
Amy Winehouse will not perform at the Grammy awards this weekend after authorities denied her a visa to enter the US.

The singer, who cancelled her last US tour after a drug overdose, had made a personal appeal for a visa after being arrested and fined in Norway for cannabis possession. She is currently in rehabilitation.

Winehouse, 24, is nominated for six Grammy awards, including Album of the Year, and had been invited to sing at the ceremony, which takes place in Los Angeles on Sunday. The denial of entry to the US came after she was questioned, but not arrested, by police this week over a video that apparently showed her smoking crack cocaine.

The Outside Organisation, which represents Winehouse, said in a statement: “Unfortunately, her application for a visa has been rejected at this time by the American Embassy. Amy has been progressing well since entering a rehabilitation clinic two weeks ago and, although disappointed with the decision, has accepted the ruling and will be concentrating on her recovery.”

I think this is a good news.At least she now knows just how screwed up she is.Hopeful she'll now clean herself up for good.
